To locate the exact point, it is recommended to look towards the eastern horizon, where they will remain visible for around 30 minutes.

Venus will be the easiest point to identify thanks to its approximate magnitude of –3.9, which will allow it to be distinguished quickly in the dark sky. Mercury will be very close, separated by just over a degree, although with a magnitude close to +1.9 that will require more precise focusing.

Recommendations to see the conjunction of the moon and Venus

Observing this astronomical event requires adequate preparation due to the short interval in which both planets remain visible. To obtain an accurate visualization, it is suggested to follow the following instructions:

Select a site with a clear horizon

It is essential to choose a place with a clear view to the east. The absence of buildings, mountains or elevated structures increases the possibility of appreciating them from the beginning of the phenomenon.

Arrive early at the observation point

It is recommended to be at the chosen site at least 20 minutes before the scheduled time. This margin allows you to adjust the equipment, locate the exact position and allow the vision to adapt to the darkness, which improves the detection of the planets.

Use simple optical instruments

Although the conjunction can be observed with the naked eye, The use of binoculars or a small telescope makes it easier to distinguish the separation between the two bodies and provides stability during observation.

Check the weather forecast

The presence of low clouds may prevent complete viewing of the event. Checking the weather conditions helps you choose the best day and the place with the least probability of cloudiness.

Stay away from areas with light pollution

Urban lighting reduces the contrast in the sky. Looking for areas with less artificial light allows you to more clearly identify the exact position of Mercury and Venus.
