The Ministry of Economy reported that as part of the public consultation it is carrying out towards the review of the Treaty between Mexico, the United States and Canada (T-MEC) the dialogue tables with the 32 States of the Mexican Republic and with 30 productive sectors concluded.

In a statement, the agency explained that in addition to the tables A questionnaire was distributed that seeks to delve deeper into the proposals of the private initiative.

As of November 5, more than 2 thousand questionnaires were received from those attending state consultations and 500 more from representatives of different economic sectors.

Besides, A dialogue was called with union representatives in coordination with the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. Likewise, there is a microsite where interested sectors can upload their proposals..

The public consultation began, as in the United States and Canada, on September 17 and the Mexican federal government said that it was during October that the dialogue spaces were opened in which information was collected that will be processed and integrated into a document that will be sent to the Presidency of the Mexican Republic and the Senate in January 2026.

These points of view will make up the approach that will reflect the national interest in the “most comprehensive way possible”, so the document will become the national position towards the review of the T-MEC, in accordance with what was said by the Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard.

The agency said that they work “in an orderly and transparent manner towards the review of the T-MECensuring that the voice of the productive sectors is taken into account and recognizing the economic and social particularities of each state and sector.
