The National Meteorological Service (SMN), official climate source of the Government of Mexico, warned that a new cold front, number 13, is about to arrive in the country and lower thermometers. These are the conditions prior to the arrival of the phenomenon:
This day, Low pressure channels in the south and southeast of the country, combined with the entry of humidity from the Pacific Ocean, Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea, will maintain conditions for rain and showers in the aforementioned regions, including the Yucatan Peninsula..
In the rest of the national territory, an anticyclonic circulation at medium levels will maintain stable weather with a low probability of rain.
During the night and early hours of Sunday, a new cold front (No. 13) will approach the north of the Mexican Republic, driven by an arctic air mass and associated with a trough polar and with the polar and subtropical jet streams, which will cause wind gusts of 60 to 70 km/h with possible whirlwinds in Chihuahua and Coahuilaas well as a marked decrease in temperatures in the north and northeast of Mexican territory.
The rains could be accompanied by electric shocks.
