Cimpor Portugal Cabo Verde Operations notified the Competition Authority (AdC) of exclusive control over Ibera – Indústria de Betão, over which it currently has joint control, the regulator announced this Tuesday, 4th.
In a statement, the AdC says it received prior notification of this company concentration operation on October 28th, which “consists of the acquisition by Cimpor Portugal Cabo Verde Operations, SGPS SA of exclusive control over Ibera – Indústria de Betão, SA, a company over which it currently has joint control”.
Cimpor Portugal is an operational holding company of the Cimpor group, based in Portugal, which aggregates and coordinates the group’s main holdings in Portugal and Cape Verde.
Its main activities are the production and sale of cement and derivatives, ready-mixed concrete, mortars, cement glue and joint fillers, granite, limestone, dolomite and gypsum aggregates and paper bags for the cement and mortar industry.
The Cimpor group is controlled by the parent company TCC Group Holdings, based in Taiwan, through the international control chain that passes through TCC Dutch Holdings, BV and TCC Europe Holdings, BV, and which materializes in Portugal through Cimpor Portugal Holdings, SGPS, SA.
TCC operates in the energy, battery manufacturing, production and marketing of cement and derivative products sectors.
Ibera is a company dedicated to the production and marketing of ready-mixed concrete and operates in the Alentejo region, namely in Évora, Borba, Sines, Beja and Reguengos de Monsaraz, where it has active production centers.
