He Former governor of Chihuahua, César “N”, appears before the control judge María Jazmín Ambriz López, from the Federal Criminal Justice Center of Almoloya de Juárez, State of Mexico, after being arrested on Monday by the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) for the crime of “money laundering.”

In the first hours of the proceedings, which began after nine in the morning on Tuesday, the judge denied the request to invalidate the arrest warrant that was issued against the former PRI member since May of last year for operations with resources of illicit origin.

The prosecutors in the case have not yet made the formal accusation against Duarte Jáquez before Judge Ambriz López.

When was César “N” arrested?

The former governor of Chihuahua was admitted on the night of Monday, December 8, 2025 to the maximum security prison of the Altiplano, after agents from the Federal Ministerial Police and the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC).

He was arrested when he was traveling on the side of the Periférico de la Juventud, in the Jardines de San Francisco neighborhood, in the city of Chihuahua.

What is he accused of?

The Attorney General’s Office accuses him of leading a resource diversion scheme when he was governor of his state between 2010 and 2016.

The initial hearing continues at the Federal Criminal Justice Center, with residence in the Altiplano maximum security prison.
