The local Secretary of Administration and Finance, Juan Pablo de Botton Falcónappeared this Thursday before the United Finance and Budget and Public Account Commissions of the Mexico City Congress (CDMX), for the discussion and analysis of the Economic Package 2026.
At a working table with legislators, de Botton Falcón described the CDMX Economic Package 2026 as a proposal that promotes public investment and endorses the fight against inequalities for the benefit of the residents of the capital.
‘Economic Package 2026 CDMX is responsible, prudent and austere’
“It is a responsible, prudent and austere budget that combats inequalities, which is reflected in an allocation of 23,501 million pesos in subsidies and social programs”, he mentioned.

In her speech, the parliamentary coordinator of the PRI, Tania Lariosquestioned the budget cut of more than 11 percent at C5stating that “the work and collaboration of the C5 with the departments of the SSCmayors, is one of the key factors to guarantee security.”
For his part, the parliamentary coordinator of the PAN, Andrés Ataydestated that the income proposed for 2026 “does not correspond to the economic reality of the City”, considering an underestimation in the Income Law to allow the Gobyesterday central exercise resources without controls or accountability.
It should be remembered that for the Fiscal Year 2026the Mexico City Income Bill estimates a total amount of 313 thousand 385 million pesos.

Furthermore, the Budget 2026 assign a 31.2 percent increase in public investmentwith an amount of 57 thousand 910.8 million and allocates 43 thousand 749 million to the Mobility sectorincluding 25 billion pesos to the Metrothe largest in its history.
