José Luís Carneiro wants to see the Portuguese State and the Assembly of the Republic protest against Israel for the way the four Portuguese who boarded the humanitarian flotilla to Gaza were treated.
Speaking to the TSF, the Secretary-General of the Socialist Party pointed out that “the State, besides ensuring compliance with rules of conduct and relationship between essential states, has the duty to formulate your protest by the way they were treated“. The statements can be understood as a message directed at Marcelo Rebelo Sousa, President of the Republic.
“Even the Assembly of the Republic”, adds Carneiro, “can and should also manifest your discontentto the extent that among the detainees is a deputy and holder of a sovereignty body, “he said.
He himself also showed satisfaction by Mariana Mortágua, Sofia Aparício, Miguel Duarte and Diogo Chaves “have arrived well in health”. Still, it recalls that other national topics deserve “very deep concerns” of the Portuguese.
