Carlos Manzo, mayor of Uruapan murdered last night in an attack during the opening of the Candle Festival, was shot seven times with a nine millimeter weapon, during an attack reported the attorney general of Michoacán, Carlos Torres Piña.

The municipal president was participating in the inauguration of the Candle Festival for the Day of the Dead, when three men shot him, according to official information from the National Security Cabinet.
The mayor’s security team responded to the attack, consequently one of the civilians who shot was killed.

He added that the Public Works councilor, Víctor Hugo de la Cruz Saucedo, was also injured in the attack, but is out of danger.
