The biometric CURP is a updated version of the Unique Population Registration Code, which includes biometric data such as fingerprints, digital photography, iris scanning and electronic signature to more securely validate a person’s identity.
So it establishes the General Population Law in article 91 bisthat the CURP that includes these characteristics: fingerprints and photography, will be the mandatory official national identification document and of universal acceptance in Mexicowith validity similar to the passport or INE credential.

It will come into force in 2026therefore the traditional CURP of will not be accepted in many servicesso it is essential to process it for future procedures that are carried out and that will request it.

Migratory: For procedures related to migration, issue the passport or visa.
Labor and tax: For processes that require identity verification.
