Axle Point Capital, a recently formed private investment firm based in Newport Beach, California, has closed its first significant deal. The Company has identified and co-sponsored a strategic investment in Odyssey Space Research, LLC. Odyssey is a provider of flight software and engineering services that support U.S. space and defense programs. This transaction was made possible through Axle Point’s partnership with the ONE Bow River National Defense Fund, which provided the equity for the investment.
Axle Point emphasizes that this deal highlights its ability to identify proprietary opportunities, conduct due diligence and execute transactions in specialized markets such as aerospace, defense and government services. The RPOC V contract is a five-year agreement to support integrated guidance, navigation and control assessments, and trajectory and flight software integration for commercial cargo and crew vehicles approaching the International Space Station. Axle Point was founded to pursue investments in complex sectors that are difficult to access, working with management teams to accelerate growth and build long-term shareholder value.
The partnership with the ONE Bow River National Defense Fund, which focuses on control equity investments in founder-led and management-driven companies aligned with U.S. defense readiness, space superiority and national security infrastructure, is another example of Axle Point’s strategic direction. Odyssey, founded in 2003, is headquartered near NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston and has an office in Boulder, Colorado.
