The City 1 Group has won the prestigious German Design Award 2026 in the “Excellent Architecture-Residential” category with its Icon Living project in Glyfada. This award follows the Iconic Award, the Real Estate Architecture Award 2025 and the BIG SEE Architecture Award 2025 that the project has already received. The undulating architecture of Icon Living, reminiscent of ocean waves, embodies elegance and movement and creates a harmonious connection with the surroundings.
Vassilios Farmakis, Managing Director of City 1 Group, emphasizes that the numerous awards confirm the success of the approach of combining ambitious design with architectural excellence to create a unique living experience. The architecture of Icon Living is characterized by a curved facade that embodies elegance and movement and emphasizes the connection to the immediate surroundings, the sea. Two five-story buildings with a total of 15 luxurious apartments offer minimalist design and high-quality materials on around 4,000 square meters of living space.
The jury praised the successful combination of minimalist design, natural materials and impressive views. Particular emphasis was placed on the consistent implementation of sustainable and energy-efficient principles, which give the project significant appeal. All units are west facing and offer spectacular views of the Glyfada golf course, the sea and the legendary sunset over the Athens Riviera.
Icon Living is located in close proximity to Greece’s most prestigious golf course and within walking distance of marinas, the beach and the center of Glyfada. The surrounding area offers premium retail and high-end dining, which enhances the exclusive ambience of the architecture. The City 1 Group, which has been active as a property developer and project developer in Germany and Greece for over 30 years, collaborated with the Athens architectural firm Potiropoulos+Partners on this project.
