An armed attack against a Jewish celebration on the emblematic beach of Bondiin Sydneyleft at least 15 people dead and dozens injured, in one of the most serious episodes of violence recorded in Australia in almost three decades.
The shooting occurred during a public event for the start of Janucawhich was attended by nearly a thousand people, and was described as an anti-Semitic terrorist attack.
Police confirmed that two men opened fire on the crowd. One of them died during the confrontation with security forces, while the second remains hospitalized in critical condition.
