Mexico City. – He Mexico City Congress It is a legislative body where its deputies make proposals that exceed the expected average, but at the level of resolutionthe members of this institution have minimal progress, since this year there were quarters where they only reached 5 percent in terms of approved opinions.

According to the public interest indicators of the Mexico City Congressthis year local deputies have managed to exceed, on average, 90 percent of the quarterly goals corresponding to bill initiatives presented by popular representatives.

In the January-March period, the deputies reported an advance of 99.60 percent, in the second quarter the figure was 94.01 and for the third quarter the advance amounted to 97.29 percent.

On the other hand, the level of resolution that the deputies have given to the bills that they themselves propose is very low according to the statistics reported by the Congress of Mexico City.

During the first quarter, regarding the opinions approved on legislative proposals, the deputies achieved .40 percent of the expected goals during the period of time. In the second quarter, the level of opinions of the deputies was 5.90 percent, while between July and September, compared to what was expected, they progressed by 28.64 percent on legal opinions.

During the past legislatures, the deputies argued that the slow progress in legislative work was due to the difference between parties that prevented the different proposals from being approved or rejected. In the current Third Legislature, Morena has the majority with 24 legislators in its faction, in addition to the 10 allies in the PVEM and the 4 from the PT, which allows it to reach up to 38 votes in its favor to speed up legislative work.
