A Lebanese man was killed today, Sunday, in an Israeli raid that targeted the road to the town of Al-Sawana, south of Lebanon, as part of attacks launched by the occupation on Lebanese territory.

The Lebanese News Agency reported that Israeli drones targeted a pickup truck with three missiles between Al-Sawwaneh and Khirbet Selm in southern Lebanon, without revealing the identity of the target.

Yesterday, Saturday, Israeli attacks killed 3 Lebanese, whom the occupation army claimed were members of Hezbollah, which in turn did not comment on the matter.

The Israeli army stated that it carried out an operation that resulted in the killing of a Hezbollah member in the Baraashit area in southern Lebanon, claiming that it killed the member while he was making attempts to rebuild the party’s military infrastructure in the region.

He also announced the killing of two Hezbollah members in the town of Shebaa, southern Lebanon, on the grounds that they were trying to smuggle weapons.

Israeli warnings

In the same context, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority quoted security sources as saying that Tel Aviv warned Washington and the Lebanese army that Hezbollah was rebuilding its military capabilities in southern Lebanon, and had succeeded in smuggling hundreds of missiles from Syria in recent weeks.

The sources claimed that the Lebanese army is not doing enough to stop Hezbollah’s activity, and said that if serious operations are not carried out, Israel will continue to aggressively target the party’s sites inside Lebanon, according to the broadcasting authority.

The sources claimed – according to the broadcasting authority – that Hezbollah rehabilitated missiles and platforms that were damaged during the recent battles, and succeeded in recruiting thousands of new fighters.

The broadcasting authority said that during the last month, Israeli forces carried out more than 25 raids in southern Lebanon, including an attack on a strategic site known as “Kashmir” that the party uses to produce missiles.

These developments come at a time when the southern Lebanese border is witnessing a widespread escalation, as the Israeli army carries out daily raids on several towns. It also recently warned citizens to evacuate, in the widest warning since the ceasefire agreement took effect.

Since the ceasefire agreement took effect in late November 2024, Israel has committed thousands of violations, resulting in the injury and death of hundreds of Lebanese.
