4 people were killed and 3 others were injured, as a result of an Israeli raid that targeted a car in the town of Kafr Rumman in the Nabatieh District, southern Lebanon, in a new violation of the ceasefire agreement announced in late 2024.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health said, “The Israeli enemy raid on Saturday evening on the town of Kafr Rumman led to the death of 4 martyrs and the wounding of 3 citizens.” She explained that “an Israeli march targeted a four-wheel-drive vehicle with a guided missile on the Doha-Kfarman road, which led to the shattering of the windows of dozens of homes in the area.”

Later, the official news agency reported that among the injured were “two people who were on a motorcycle who happened to be passing by the place at the time of the attack.” On Sunday, Israeli forces also fired two incendiary shells towards the outskirts of the southern town of Aitaroun, without causing any casualties.

For its part, the Israeli army announced that it “killed 4 people from Hezbollah’s Radwan Force, including the force’s logistical support officer,” claiming that they were “transporting combat means and rebuilding the party’s military infrastructure in southern Lebanon.”

On the other hand, Hezbollah, on Sunday, mourned “the four mujahideen who rose as martyrs on the road to Jerusalem,” and called for participation in their funeral in the city of Nabatieh. The city later witnessed a mass funeral for the party’s fighters, where mourners raised the party’s flags and chanted slogans against Israel and the United States.

The attack comes in light of escalating tension in southern Lebanon, where Israel has intensified its raids in recent weeks despite the ceasefire agreement. Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said, “Hezbollah is playing with fire,” hinting at intensifying military operations against the party.

The confrontations between Israel and Hezbollah broke out after the Gaza War in October 2023, and turned into a comprehensive war in September 2024, before stopping under the ceasefire agreement in November of the same year. But Israel, according to the Lebanese authorities, violated the agreement more than 4,500 times, leading to the death and injury of hundreds.

Israel still occupies 5 Lebanese hills and several border areas despite the agreement, while the United States continues to pressure Beirut to disarm Hezbollah, a demand rejected by the party and its allies.
