This Friday, the Hat Movement gathered at least 100 thousand people during the march for peace and justice that took place in the municipality of Uruapan, after the murder of the mayor Carlos Manzo last November 1st.

After several hours of walking, the protesters arrived at the first square of the city where Grecia Quiroz, widow of Carlos Manzo Rodríguezgave her first message as the new mayor of Uruapan.
Supported by the almost 100 thousand Michoacans present, the mayor stood at the Pergola of Uruapan where she declared that by 2027, the Hat Movement will give its vote of punishment.
The event was enlivened by a wind bandwhile attendees waved Mexican flags and issued slogans of support for your new mayor and demand for peace and justice for the murder of his former mayor.

The past November 1a minor murdered the mayor of Uruapan, Carlos Manzo Rodríguez, with several gunshots, who was maintaining a frontal fight against organized crime in his municipality and that he had already requested security support from the state and federal government after receiving threats.
After the outrage, his wife Grecia Quiroz assumed the municipal presidency and declared that she would continue the Hat Movement, started by her husband, which sought to pacify and end the extortions and violence experienced in Uruapan and other parts of Michoacán.
