Venezuela boasts of boycotting a false flag attack organized by the CIA to justify US “aggression”

The Government of Nicolás Maduro compared this scenario to “the provocations of the battleship Maine and the Gulf of Tonkin”, two operations that served as a pretext for the United States to embark on the Spanish-Cuban wars in 1898 and the Vietnam war in 1964.

“Venezuela reports that it has captured a mercenary group with direct information from the US intelligence agency, CIA, being able to determine that a false flag attack is underway from waters bordering Trinidad and Tobagoor from Trinidad or Venezuelan territory itself, that generates a complete military confrontation against our country,” Caracas denounced in a statement released by the Ministry of Information.

The Minister of Defense, through another message published on social networks, insisted on this line: “War is always preceded by misinformation, manipulation and lies. “For this reason, the US Government is looking for an incident to justify a military aggression against our nation, since the story of drug trafficking has run out.”

The Maduro Executive described as a “military provocation by Trinidad and Tobago in coordination with the CIA” the military exercises with the United States announced on Friday and started this Sunday, which led to the arrival of the warship in Port of Spain. USS Gravely parallel to that of the largest North American aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford. Washington justified this movement as part of the fight against organizations dedicated to drug trafficking in Caribbean waters.

“The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela denounces to the international community the dangerous conduct of military exercises by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago between the 26th and 30th of this month, under the coordination, financing and control of the United States Southern Command, an action that constitutes a hostile provocation against Venezuela and a serious threat to the peace of the Caribbean,” the statement added.

Mobilized troops

The Chavista regime singled out Trinidad and Tobago for “giving up its sovereignty” and “act as a subordinate military colony to hegemonic American interests, turning its territory into a US aircraft carrier for the war throughout the Caribbean against Venezuela, against Colombia and against all of South America.

In the opinion of Caracas, the Trinidadian prime minister, Kamla Bissar Perisher“violates the Charter of the United Nations, the proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace approved by the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the principles of the Caribbean Community (Caricom).”

Furthermore, the Venezuelan Government argued that the Trinidadian leader’s policy has hit its own population: “Innocent fishermen have been victims of extrajudicial executions in the Caribbean Sea, revealing the repressive and criminal nature of the current government, which shoots at its own people (…) and celebrates that Trinidadians are summarily executed while opening the doors to murderous foreign troops.”

“Venezuela does not accept threats from any US vassal government. We are not intimidated by military exercises or war cries,” reads the document in which Caracas has stressed that its Armed Forces will remain mobilized and on alert.
