The Polish Prime Minister Donald Tuskconfirmed this Monday “an unprecedented act of sabotage” against the railway that connects the cities of Warsaw and Lublin and has denounced that said attack was “directed against the security of the State and its citizens.”
“Unfortunately, it has been confirmed the worst fears. An act of sabotage has taken place on the Warsaw-Lublin route. An explosive device destroyed the railway track“, he wrote in a message published on his X account, in which he indicated that “damages were also found on the same route, closer to Lublin.”
The explosion occurred this Sunday and the emergency services and the Prosecutor’s Office are working at the scene.
According to several Polish media, it was a train driver who informed the Police of this damage.
Warsaw plays key role as epicenter of aid to Ukraine in the war against Russia, which makes this city a target of acts of sabotage.
