- On International Animal Rights Day, the organization reports that during this year it recovered 11 animals of different species, as well as 70 dogs.
- All received timely attention and were channeled to the Animal Surveillance Brigade of the SSC CDMX and, in the case of the dogs, to the CTC of the Metro.

During this year, from January to date, a total of 11 animals of different species were rescued or confiscated within the network of the Metrowith the aim of protecting and guaranteeing their physical integrity, as several of them are found in high-risk facilities, abandoned inside wagons and even traveling without proper protection, like exotic pets.
Within the framework of International Animal Rights Day, which is celebrated on December 10, the Metro Collective Transportation System reaffirms its commitment to protect them and contribute to their integral well-being.
Species include iguanas, snakes, a turtle, an alligator, an opossum and a Cooper’s hawk. Some were confiscated, as is the case of a snake (Ball Python) that a minor was carrying as a pet.
Additionally, during the same period, 70 dogs and three cats have been rescued.
He STC Metro recognizes the work of the elements of the Auxiliary Police (PA) and Banking and Industrial Police (PBI) of the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City, assigned to the surveillance of the stations, who, in their daily tours during all service hours, also attend to this type of incidents.

In accordance with the established protocol, the animal species have been delivered to the Animal Surveillance Brigadethe body in charge of its protection and correct care.
In addition, the organization highlights the work of the personnel of the Transportation Coordinations and Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection, who carry out the timely rescue of dogs spotted on the tracks or cats inside the stations.
It is worth mentioning that only dogs are sent to the Metro Canine Transfer Center (CTC), where the veterinary team cares for them and provides appropriate medical care, if required.
In it International Animal Rights Day, The current administration of the STC Metro reiterates that, 365 days a year, it maintains the commitment to safeguard and respect any species of the animal kingdom detected within the network.
