El mapeo digital con motivos decembrinos que tendrá La Peni


Tomorrow, Thursday, La Peni will premiere the video mapping “Christmas in Peace Park”in which the façade of the old penitentiary will be adorned with lighting designs alluding to this holiday season.

The digital mapping will be accompanied by musical and dance presentations.

According to information released by the Directorate of Identity and Culture of the City Council of Mérida, this week the functions will be from tomorrow to domingo 14, will be resumed next Thursday 18 and will continue until mars 23.

In all cases They will start at 8 p.m.. They will have duration of 50 minutes and access will be free.

The show was produced by Iván Rubio and includes digital mapping, two choreographies with classical guitar accompaniment and the performance of traditional Christmas songs with an animated digital background.

Classical dance will be present with two numbers from the suite of “The Nutcracker” de Tchaikovsky: “The March of the Toys” and the “Cossack Dance”, with the dancer Shihan Charruf and the music played by the guitarist Braulio Becerra.

Likewise, the songs “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”, “Let it Snow”, “Baby it’s Cold Outside”, “Oh, White Christmas”, “Santa Claus Came to the City” and “Gloria in excelsis deo” will be heard, which will be performed by the baritone Juanjo Basto and the soprano Naomi Cuéllar, with solo and duet performances.

With more background illustrations, “Jinge Bells” and “Jingle Bell Rock” will be performed in an instrumental version.

Naomi Cuéllar was born in Guadalajara and began her lyrical training in 2018 at the State Center of Fine Arts (CEBA) in Mérida. She has been a student of Alejandra López Fuentes, Bárbara Llanes and Héctor Sosa.

The Yucatecan Juanjo Basto has worked in opera, zarzuela and musical theater.

Shihan Charruf is a choreographer and performer of classical dance, flamenco, tap and jazz at the Contempo School, and has participated in the City Festival, with the Yucatán Symphony Orchestra and flamenco tablaos.

Diego Cano has a 15-year career, he is a photographer, composer and creative technologist with analog and digital tools, as well as in sound design for film, theater and contemporary dance.
