Operations at the “Presidente Benito Juárez” Regional Hospital in Oaxaca have not stopped and its medical-administrative services continue to function normally.
Mexico City, December 5 (However).- The Institute of Security and Social Services of State Workers (ISSSTE) reported this Friday that the Hospital Regional (HR) “President Benito Juarez” of Oaxacamaintains its operations uninterruptedly, after a demonstration carried out by a group of unionized workers.
“The Institute of Security and Social Services of State Workers (ISSSTE) reports in relation to the demonstration carried out by a group of unionized workers at the “Presidente Benito Juárez” Regional Hospital (HR) of Oaxaca, that the unit maintains its operation uninterruptedly,” the institution indicated in a statement.
He pointed out that the actions of the protesters and their union representatives respond to “political interests”, and that the problems related to infrastructure and supplies have been addressed directly by the Institute’s governing body.

Likewise, he stated that the operation of this hospital center has not been stopped “nor has the continuity of medical services been compromised due to lack of materials.” Furthermore, he stressed that “he maintains total openness to dialogue, but categorically rejects any
attempt to misinform law and public opinion.
The federal agency indicated that despite the demonstrations, essential areas such as emergencies, intensive care, operating rooms, hospitalization, pharmacy, clinical laboratory, X-rays, mammograms, ultrasound, rehabilitation, chemotherapy and hemodialysis, among other medical services, have continued to operate.
The Hospital’s medical functions continue with normal operations and it has sufficient medical supplies to guarantee care. In that sense, he emphasized that “from January 1 to November 30, more than 4,500 surgeries have been performed, a figure
similar to last year, which reflects the continuity in the provision of medical services.

In order to maintain the pace of care for the entitled population, the ISSSTE builds the new Regional High Specialty Hospital of Oaxaca, in San Lorenzo Cacaotepec. “With an investment of more than 3 billion pesos, work began in August and will have 250 census beds, 44 offices and 36 specialties, in addition to X-ray, ultrasound, mammography, tomography, nuclear medicine and magnetic resonance services.”
“The ISSSTE reiterates its absolute commitment to the entitled population in Oaxaca, through the daily operation of the Regional Hospital, permanent attention to their needs and the promotion of historic investments in infrastructure that will have a positive long-term impact on the entity’s medical care,” the agency concluded.
