David Rodrigues is the man behind @howtocookstuff, a really fun collection of videos and reels about authentic Portuguese food (and slang). Born in the USA, to immigrant parents and, as he recalls in this conversation in English with Tony Gonçalves, his mother’s food was always present in his youth, a colorful array of typically Portuguese flavors and smells, cooked with time and abundance.

One day, David felt the desire for a real steak and made a simple video. This was the beginning of his cooking channel, where David films recipes with humor and very typical expressions such as “eat and shut up”. This experience has already earned him thousands of followers and two cookbooks.
David Rodrigues is synonymous with tradition and true Portuguese food (always with a little chaos), a true ambassador of Portuguese flavors and the perfect guest for this festive season.
Tony Gonçalves was born in the north of Portugal in 1973 and, at the age of four, emigrated with his parents to the USA. At a professional level, he worked for companies such as Sharp Electronics, Samsung and WarnerMedia, where he reached chief revenue officer, managing revenues and investments in the area of advertising, streaming and entertainment sales.
With the mission of placing Portuguese companies and leaders on an international level, Tony founded Evrose Group to guide and advise Portuguese companies in the growth and transformation of their businesses.
At the beginning of 2024, Tribeca, based in New York, and SIC, with its streaming platform OPTO, joined together to launch the first edition of the Tribeca Festival outside the USA. Tony Gonçalves thus became the executive producer of the Tribeca Festival Lisboa, which took place between October 18th and 19th, 2024.
‘The Heart & Hustle of Portugal’ is his first podcast and aims to bring together a community passionate about Portugal around a series of conversations with major national and international protagonists linked to the country and the cultural and business world.
