The Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard, assured that in the review of the Treaty between Mexico, the United States and Canada (T-MEC), The North American country is going through a stage of public absences, called “hearing“, and the majority of voices consider that the US should continue with the trade agreement.
“Until today I have not, until this moment, any sign that tells me that they are not going to move forward, that is, I would not tell you anything other than that, the hearings are working. Here I have the report of what was said today, who said what and it seems to me that the scenario that we are going to have is because we are on the road,” Ebrard stated at a press conference.
The secretary reported that in Mexico there is also consensus to continue with the trade agreementand announced that In January 2026 they will deliver a report with all the contributions, and only the contribution of the Senate of the Republic is missing as a result of their forum.
“In that report there are several cases, but I would say that There is a consensus in Mexico that we must continue”, he concluded.
