There are, in history, small stories of women and men that we no longer remember. They lived their time without their biographies gaining the importance that history rewards when told. Even so, these subjects of history, voted to anonymity, intervened decisively in the course of impactful events, at moments when history took its turns, changed course and opened paths that still reach us today.

Juan Pujol Garcia

We know some of these events well, and we were even spectators of some. But, behind the protagonists that we recognize as central – politicians, scientists, theorists, among others – how many women and how many men have played a determining and decisive role?

In this episode, we will follow in the footsteps of Juan Pujol Garcia, the spy who passed through Portugal during the Second World War, and take a look behind the scenes on June 6, 1944, the day that Allied troops landed in Normandy. What is Pujol’s role on this day when history got a little fresh start?
