TIZIMÍN.— One month before the traditional Three Kings’ Fair 2026, security and mobility strategies are being prepared due to the increase in activities during the Christmas season, but also due to the arrival of visitors to the municipality.
Two months ago the motorcycle theft rate had shown an uptick, but has decreased in recent weeks. Despite this, this crime keeps the population on alert.
One of the most notorious motorcycle thefts recently was that of Nancy Cutiz Pech, elected queen of the Kings Fair, who regretted that after almost a month of filing her complaint, her vehicle has not been located.
The Deputy Director of Police, Marcial Perera Navarro, indicated that last month only four motorcycle thefts were recorded, a lower number compared to previous weeks.
“When the report is timely and almost immediate it allows us to find those responsible, but when it is made some time later the search is very complicated. That is why we always ask people to immediately notify the Police,” he says.
At the beginning of December, the corporation is hiring temporary personnel to support road work, patrols and access control during the events of the Kings Fair.
According to the deputy director, the temporary staff will operate under the supervision of uniformed agents and will have specific functions in different parts of the city.
“They will be personnel who will be supporting the events of the fair, from the entry of attendees into the bullring, the Expo Fair and the Center, in the church area.”
In addition, it indicates that the Guadalupe-Reyes operation is already being refined, as well as the road devices for the arrival of visitors to the Expo Fair and the first square of the city. Special operations are also being prepared to accompany pilgrims.— WENDY UCÁN CHAN

With the coordination that is maintained with the State Police, he says, their presence in the city and police stations has been strengthened through convoys and that has contributed to inhibiting crimes and administrative offenses, which is why they plan for these tours to be reinforced throughout the season.
