The Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar García Harfuch, ruled out that there are indications of alleged money from organized crime in Miss Universe; this, after the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic (FGR) charged Raúl Rocha Cantú, co-owner of the contest, for alleged illicit huachicol and arms trafficking for drug trafficking.
In a press conference this Sunday to report progress of the Michoacán Plan for Peace and Justice, García Harfuch assured that the authorities they have not detected any correlation between the contest Miss Universe with the investigations corresponding to Rocha and the organized crime network.
“We have no indication that there is money from organized crime in the Miss Universe contest, nor do we have anything related to the contest, as such in the contest, with the corresponding investigations,” said.

“The investigation led to 13 arrest warrants, as was already reported at the time. One of them is for this person, which were made in full coordination with the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic,” reported.
The head of the SSPC highlighted that it was a investigation between the FGR, the Ministry of Security and the institutions that make up the Security Cabinet: “we all contribute information”said.
