MÉRIDA, Yucatán.— The Merida Chamber of Commerce y 15 private universities will join efforts to align academic training with the needs of the commercial productive sector of Yucatán, as reported today during the presentation of this new educational project.
Eduardo Urias Escalante y Alejandro Vallado Arjonapresident of Higher Education Schools Committee and representative of the president of Canaco Servyturrespectively, reported that this strategic alliance in educational matters is a new specialized division of the commercial organization and various private higher education institutions and is also open to public education.
Strengthen higher education in the state
They explained that this initiative seeks strengthen higher education in the state, promote entrepreneurship and ensure that graduates have the skills demanded by Yucatecan companies.
For his part, the undersecretary of Segey Higher Education, Everth de Jesús Dizb Peraza celebrated the collaboration and noted that this alliance can go beyond social service and traditional professional practices because it will strengthen educational programs with the development of the skills needed by the productive sector.
Link students with companies
The objective of this educational alliance is link students with companiescreate programs to identify young people with entrepreneurial potential and connect them with companies affiliated with Canaco so that they gain practical experience in key areas such as marketing, finances and processes.
As part of this alliance, a series of academic events and conferences of universities, students and teachers of higher education were announced. Even today a meeting began between students and the Spanish philosopher David Pastor Vicoand tomorrow the conference will be with professors from the participating universities, although it is open to other schools.
Building a better society
Future activities such as job fairs and a higher education congress are also planned, with the aim of strengthening the educational ecosystem of Yucatán.
The alliance seeks, in addition to preparing professionals for employment, encourage critical thinking and the building a better societyexpecting the programs to be fully implemented starting in 2026.
