ENOVA, a leading company in the field of wind energy, recently sold the project rights for several wind farm locations in the Hochsauerland district to VERBUND Green Power Deutschland GmbH. This transaction includes a portfolio with a total potential capacity of up to 140 megawatts. VERBUND, Austria’s leading energy company, will continue the existing project structures and assume all contractual obligations from the previous development phase. This ensures continuous planning and implementation as well as a long-term, sustainable energy supply in the region.
ENOVA’s strategic direction is to focus more on its core business. This includes, in particular, repowering projects of existing wind farms and the development of new locations in the Weser Ems area, the so-called “ENOVA-Land”. With an inventory of over 900 megawatts, ENOVA is one of the largest operators of onshore wind farms in Germany and currently supplies around one million households with green electricity.
VERBUND plans to begin construction of the facilities in 2027. The approval applications under the Federal Immission Control Act for three of the five projects have already been submitted. The approval process will be continued jointly by ENOVA and VERBUND to enable rapid implementation. This collaboration demonstrates both companies’ commitment to a sustainable energy future.
