The municipality of Acolmanheaded by the municipal president Blanca Guadalupe Sánchez Osoriofaces a crisis due to the persistent omissions of the municipal government itself, whose lack of intervention has allowed the deterioration of basic services and increased risks for thousands of inhabitants.
In neighboring neighborhoods such as Chiconautla, Granjas Familiares and part of Real del Valle, neighbors report that the city council has left areas that do correspond to it without attention: public lighting, desilting, garbage collection and street maintenance.
The absence of these actions keeps entire communities in darkness, with accumulated garbage and impassable roads, despite constant reports.
The most serious problem is the collapse of the drain. In Santa Catarina Acolman, Every rainy season, wastewater invades schools, businesses, avenues and homes.
Residents claim that the municipality has ignored for years the diagnoses that warn of the insufficiency of the network, while allowing the expansion of subdivisions that further saturate the infrastructure.
Added to this is the water shortage drinking water, which affects more than 20 thousand homes. Despite having municipal wells, complaints indicate poor administration, poor supervision and absence of controls that even facilitated the illegal extraction of water. Municipal oversight over its own hydraulic system has been minimal.
Insecurity also reflects omissions. Findings of human remains on roads and highways show the lack of effective prevention and local patrol strategies, in addition to weak coordination with state corporations.
Finally, although the city council recently signed inter-municipal agreements to address drainage, security and flooding, neighbors consider that the response came late and only occurred after protests and road blockades.
In summary, the main problem of Acolman It is the lack of action by its government, whose prolonged omissions have allowed services to collapse, water to be lacking, infrastructure to deteriorate and insecurity to advance, leaving the population in a critical and highly vulnerable state.
