The Veracruz Prosecutor’s Office reported that it has already begun investigations into the murder of Pedro González, former candidate for the Municipal Presidency of San Andrés Tuxtla.
Mexico City, November 18 (However).- Armed subjects murdered this Tuesday Pedro González Rodríguez, former candidate to the Municipal Presidency of San Andrés TuxtlaVeracruz, in a attack registered in the community of Villa Comoapanfrom the same municipality.
According to the first reports, a group of armed individuals entered the home of the social leader and opened fire on him, which caused a strong mobilization of the security forces in the area.
As a result of the incident, elements of the State Police went to the scene, where they located the property with severe damage and the victim dead. Subsequently, personnel from other corporations joined the operation and conducted tours in the vicinity of the home, in order to find the alleged perpetrators.

Meanwhile, the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) began an investigation file and coordinated the removal of the body, which was transferred to the Forensic Medical Service to perform the legal autopsy.
It is worth mentioning that González Rodríguez participated in the 2021 municipal elections as the standard bearer of the then local party “All for Veracruz”, which maintained a political presence in the region due to its community work.
The homicide is recorded in a scenario marked by violent acts against political figures, after on November 1, a group of hitmen shot dead Carlos Manzo Rodríguez, Mayor of the municipality of Uruapan, in the state of Michoacán and which shocked the population.
Manzo had repeatedly requested the support of the Federal Government to confront criminal organizations that operate in his municipality and even offered rewards to municipal police for arresting or killing alleged hitmen.
With this new event, at least 56 murders of political actors have been recorded in different states of the country, according to a count by the civil organization Causa en Común.
