Ukrainian defense forces today claimed to have cut off a logistical route for Russian troops on the outskirts of Pokrovsk, in the eastern region of the country, by blowing up a road, the 7th Airborne Corps reported.
“The defense forces are cutting off the enemy’s logistical routes around Pokrovsk. As a result of the air attack, the road connecting Selydove to Pokrovsk was destroyed. This prevented the Russians from using this route to infiltrate Pokrovsk with light vehicles,” according to a message posted on the Facebook network.
The Russian Ministry of Defense indicated today that, during its assault on Pokrovsk, several unsuccessful attempts were reported to break the blockade of access to the city.
In other areas, the Ukrainian army is building additional engineering barriers, adds the message regarding the situation in Pokrovsk, in the Donetsk region, which has become the most intense battlefront in the conflict that began in February 2022.
On another note, Kiev forces confirmed an attack on a refinery in the Ryazan region, south of Moscow, as well as a radar station, a military convoy and several areas where Russian forces are concentrated.
“With the aim of reducing the enemy’s ability to launch missile and bomb attacks, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked the ‘Ryazanskaya’ oil refinery in the Ryazan region of the Russian Federation,” said a military statement published on the Telegram network.
The General Staff said that the refinery produces A-92/95/98/100 gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, liquefied gases and other petroleum products, and that it produces an average of 840 thousand tons per year of TS-1 aviation kerosene, used by the air and space forces of the occupying Russians.
The statement added that there were several explosions and a large fire at the facility.
Additionally, Ukrainian forces claimed an attack on a Nebo-U radar station in occupied Crimea, a military convoy in the Tokmak zone in the Zaporijia region, and a concentration of enemy troops near Volchansk in the Kharkiv border region.
The results of these attacks are still being evaluated, adds the military statement.
“The defense forces continue to take all necessary measures to undermine the military, economic and offensive capabilities of the Russian occupiers and to force the Russian Federation to put an end to its armed aggression against Ukraine”, underlines the General Staff.
Russia has intensified its military operations in eastern and southern Ukraine, at a time when negotiations led by the United States are at a standstill.
Before the arrival of winter, Moscow’s forces have made progress in recent weeks in their efforts to conquer the strategic city of Pokrovsk and also the southern region of Zaporijia, while at the same time launching intensive bombings against the country’s energy infrastructures.
In its statement today, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that it had seized the town of Yablokovo, in Zaporijia.
In a statement, the Russian military claims that Ukraine lost more than 265 soldiers, two armored vehicles, twelve cars and a missile.
Zaporijia is less than 10 kilometers from Hulyaipole, an area where Russia announced it had recently captured several other locations, including Sladkoe and Novoye.
