In less than a year, the mayor of Gustavo A Madero, Janecarlo Lozano inaugurated the second Space for Development and Hope for Children (EDEN)a public park that, due to its infrastructure, dimensions and concept, is already considered the most ambitious in the recent history of the district.
Located on Francisco Villa and Venustiano Carranza streets, in the heart of Cuautepec—one of the most disadvantaged areas of Mexico City—the new EDEN Juventino Rosas It stands as an emblematic project that combines entertainment, sports, culture and inclusion, with the purpose of settling a historical debt with Madera families.
The inauguration was attended by the Secretary of Works and Services of Mexico City, Raúl Basulto, representing the Head of Government, Clara Brugada.
The venue, completely free, offers an ice rink with capacity for 100 people simultaneously and loan of skates, accompanied by stands for the safe supervision of girls and boys. Next to it, a zip line, a dog area, gushing fountains and a large children’s area with mega games and furniture adapted for children with disabilities, reinforce its family vocation.
The park also includes a pump track with bicycles available free of charge, designed so that young people and children can practice safely and professionally. In sports matters, EDEN Juventino Rosas It adds a soccer field with synthetic grass and two more for basketball and volleyball.
“He EDEN Juventino Rosas It has the most advanced infrastructure and becomes a standard for how public parks should be from now on. In addition, this space has something unique that will represent the heart of Cuautepec and the vision of our government that we are building an ice rink that will be open 365 days a year free of charge for everyone,” said Mayor Janecarlo Lozano.
As part of its comprehensive vision, the project included the complete rehabilitation of the green areas, the planting of new trees, endemic plants, the installation of more than 300 lights and the construction of walkways and a jogging path that surrounds the complex.
In addition, it has multipurpose rooms for activities such as yoga, karate, boxing, chess and recreational disciplines for young people, adults and seniors.
With this work, the mayor Janecarlo Lozano reaffirms its commitment to the recovery of public space and to bring top-level infrastructure to historically forgotten areas.
