The Secretariat of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection (SGIRPC) activate the yellow and orange alerts by low temperatures in various municipalities to the north and south of Mexico City (CDMX).

According to their notices published on social networks, the yellow alert due to cold environment 4 to 6 degrees Celsius in the Gustavo A. Madero, Tláhuac, Venustiano Carranza and Xochimilco municipalities, for the early morning and morning hours of Saturday.

On the other hand, the Orange Alert will apply to the municipalities of Álvaro Obregón, Cuajimalpa, Magdalena Contreras, Milpa Alta and Tlalpan where temperatures of 1 to 3 degrees Celsiusas well as frost, also for early morning and Saturday morning.

Among the recommendations issued by the authorities highlight:

  • Dress appropriately
  • Avoid sudden changes in temperature
  • Protect pets and do not leave them outdoors
  • Protects children, elderly people, people with disabilities and pregnant women
  • Maintain adequate ventilation if using heaters or fireplaces
  • Maintain updated vaccination schedule
