Strong explosion outside Islamabad courts leaves at least eight injured

An explosion outside the district courts of Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, has left at least eight people injured, according to a police spokesman.

Some of the victims are in critical condition, he added.

“We are investigating what type of explosion it is. It is still not clear. We will be able to offer more details once we receive the report from our forensic team,” the aforementioned police sources point out.

The explosion occurred near the entrance of the Islamabad district court, an area that is usually busy.

Local media have published information with shocking photographs of the place, with bloodied people near a police van, but these images could not be verified by Reuters or some other agency truthfully.
