Within the framework of the project Worthy Baby that is promoted by this government that fights for children and as part of its commitments made since the beginning of this administration; Octavio Rivero Villasenorinaugurated the sixth Bebeteca in Milpa Alta, in the community San Lorenzo Tlacoyucan.
“These recreational and dignified learning spaces are for Milpa children; to guarantee their full development and the rights to early childhood and thus build a hopeful future,” which places Milpa Alta as the mayor’s office that has the largest number of public spaces and free services, intended for early childhood in the city. This innovative project has caused excitement in the community, since the baby stores serve children from zero to 3 years old; service that in Milpa Alta it was not contemplated; For this reason, the sixth was delivered in Tlacoyucan, to which are added: Santa Ana Tlacotenco, San Jerónimo Miacatlán, San Agustín Ohtenco, San Francisco Tecoxpa and San Salvador Cuauhtenco, where more than 20 thousand infants are cared for free; That is, 10,549 babies from zero to 3 years old from the mayor’s office and another 10,540 infants from 4 to 10 years old, who are taught early childhood stimulation workshops, children’s literature, musical initiation, children’s theater, workshops for parents, breastfeeding, as well as Nahuatl classes; Taught by teachers and professionals trained in interaction with children.
The Mayor said that, with this sixth Bebeteca, he seeks to serve the new generations, build a better future and better generations for Milpa Alta. Recognizing that the demarcation has social gaps, poverty, education and psycho-emotional development, therefore, the Government of Milpa Alta redoubles efforts to provide favorable conditions so that the children of the 12 towns have new, better opportunities and guarantee them the full right to development and education from the cradle.
Accompanied by the vice-rector of the University of Caldas of Colombia, Darío Arenas Villegas; Rivero Villasenor He stressed that the San Lorenzo Tlacoyucan Bebeteca will be a safe space where early stimulation, learning, games, literature, family and communal coexistence are practiced, through activities that develop healthy recreation, where childhood is the central axis, in addition to teaching art, music, children’s theater, workshops for infants and parents, with professional teachers trained in interaction in childhood.
The Mayor explained that the property is equipped with professional furniture for early stimulation and psychomotor development, such as crawling, balance and healthy growth. These spaces are also created, thinking about another complex situation that we face in Milpa Altaas is teenage pregnancy.
Finally, Octavio Rivero reaffirmed his commitment to continue promoting projects to benefit the children of Milpa. “In Milpa Alta, we are creating a place where the little ones can grow, learn, explore and describe new experiences,” he stressed.
