Portuguese tennis player Francisco Cabral won this Saturday, November 8th, his fifth ATP doubles title, at the to impose himself, alongside Austrian Lucas Miedler, on Santiago González and David Pel in the final of the Athens tournament.

After losing the first set, the Portuguese-Austrian duo managed to turn the score around, to triumph against the third seeds with scores of 4-6, 3-6 and 10-3, in one hour and 17 minutes.

This is the fifth ATP title of his career for Francisco Cabral, in the 10th final played on the main tennis circuitand the third next to Miedler, after those conquered in Hangzhou and Gstaad.

Pre-designated seconds in Athens, the 28-year-old Porto native and the Austrian, 27th in the peer hierarchy, began their partnership only in April and also reached the finals in Vienna and Winston-Salem and the ‘semi-finals’ of the Masters 1,000 in Paris, last week.

Best Portuguese ever in the ATP rankings, Cabral, who this week entered the top 20 world pairshe also has titles on his resume at the Estoril Open, alongside compatriot Nuno Borges, and Gstaad, in a pair with Bosnian Tomislav Brkic, both in 2022.
