Australian startup Lumonus recently closed an impressive A$25 million funding round to expand its AI-powered radiation therapy solutions globally. This investment, led by Aviron Investment Management with continued participation from Oncology Ventures, underscores the increasing adoption of the Lumonus platform by leading healthcare systems in the US, Australia and Europe. The platform has already helped support over 280,000 cancer treatments and automate more than 75,000 treatment plans, significantly improving the efficiency and consistency of care.

Lumonus’ leadership brings more than 100 years of combined clinical, operational and technical experience from cancer centers in the United States, Europe and Asia Pacific. This deep, real-world expertise firmly anchors the company in the realities of oncology care and advances its mission to deliver solutions that enable care teams to deliver high-quality, efficient treatments.

With the new capital, Lumonus plans to expand its presence in the US and strengthen its clinical success teams. In addition, investments are being made in the further development of the flagship products Lumonus AI Physician and Lumonus AI Dosimetry to improve clinical informatics. The goal is to work with health systems to leverage real-world evidence, measure quality, improve operational performance and deliver personalized, data-driven care.

The importance of this development lies not only in financial support, but also in the wider acceptance and integration of AI into clinical practice. Lumonus’ ability to automate complex treatment plans and support decision-making could fundamentally change the way cancer treatments are delivered worldwide. This is a significant step towards more efficient and patient-centered oncology care.
