The tech YouTuber Enderman, known for his videos about old versions of Windows and other technology topics, is facing a big problem: his YouTube channels, which had a total of hundreds of thousands of subscribers, were deleted without warning. This drastic measure has caused a stir in the tech community, as Enderman himself has no explanation for the deletion and points to a wrong decision made by artificial intelligence (AI).
Enderman, who produces his content in English, was recently warned by Microsoft after he used a large language model (LLM) to generate a valid activation code for Windows 11. However, this warning is not directly related to the deletion of his channels. Instead, Enderman suspects his channels were mistakenly associated with a Japanese YouTube channel that received a third copyright strike.
Deleting a YouTube channel has far-reaching consequences. Not only are all videos irretrievably lost, but the operators can no longer open new channels. This poses an existential threat to content creators like Enderman who have built their existence on the platform. Enderman has already contacted YouTube to challenge the decision, but so far without success.
