After the episode of harassment that President Claudia Sheinbaum experienced outside the National Palace, when she was walking to an event of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), In his morning conference this Wednesday he spoke about the situation and reported that he decided to file a complaint with the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City.
“We left, many people greeted us on the way, until this totally drunk person approached and experienced this episode of harassment. At the time I was talking to other people, I realized immediately, Juan José arrives, he is the one who coordinates the entire assistant team, moves it, and it’s not until after I watch the videos that I realize what really happened,” Sheinbaum said.

She explained that after the events she decided to file a complaint, because it was a situation that she experienced more than as president, as a woman. “I decided to file a complaint, because this is something that I experienced as a woman, but the women of our country experience it, I have experienced it before when I was not President, when I was a student, and as a young person.”
The President also explained that harassment is a criminal offense in Mexico City and that she filed a complaint because these types of situations cannot be ignored for any woman in the country. “My reflection is if I don’t file the complaint, in addition to the fact that it is a crime, what condition are all Mexican women in? If they do this to the President, then what is going to happen to all the young women, women in our country.”

Sheinbaum shared that after harassing her, this guy was harassing other women on that same street where it happened to her, Therefore, the man identified as Uriel “N” was placed at the disposal of the Sexual Crimes Investigation Prosecutor’s Office of Mexico City, in the Doctores neighborhood.
Criminal sources indicated that Sheinbaum was the victim of a crime of flagrant sexual abuse, according to the Penal Code of Mexico City.
