Ecatepec, Méx., November 4, 2025. With its own resources, the government of Ecatepec repaves Insurgentes Avenue, which crosses the first municipal square and is used daily by thousands of motorists heading to the Mexico City, work that registers more than 80 percent progress.

The mayor Azucena Cisneros Coss He stated that the road will soon be finished, for the benefit of the inhabitants of Ecatepec and other towns who use it to reach their destinations, as it connects the López Portillo road and the Lechería-Texcoco highway with the Mexico-Pachuca highway and the Morelos highway.

Carlos Ramírez Brassetti, Director of Public Works, reported that to repave the avenue in both directions, 4.25 kilometers long, a private company would charge around 28 million pesos, although they only invested a third of it because it is carried out by the municipal government.

He added that for this work they use the paving train recently acquired by the government of Ecatepec, whose work is carried out efficiently and quickly.

Ramírez Brassetti explained that Insurgentes Avenue is a primary road, run by the government of Ecatepec, so its own resources are used to repave it, while other primary avenues, such as via Morelos and R1, are state jurisdiction.

“Sorry for the inconvenience because we are working night and day. We affect traffic, so we want to do it very quickly so that people are less affected,” he said.

He added that since 1998 Insurgentes Avenue had not been intervened in its entirety, only in some sections, so it was deteriorated and had many potholes that damaged vehicles.
