On the 5th of this month, Leiria hosted the gala for the seventh edition of the Real Estate Awards, organized by SIC Notícias and Semanário Expresso. At the event, 22 distinctions were awarded to the best national real estate projects developed in 2024.
This seventh edition attracted 60 applications spread across eight categories, divided into subcategories.
In the sustainability category, Oriente Green Campus won, an office project, located in Lisbon, with environmental concerns
As for the new construction development category, in housing, the winner was the Savoy Residence Monumentalis, in Funchal, with views of the sea. In tourism, the victory fell on Ala Álvaro Siza, the extension designed by architect Álvaro Siza Vieira, for the Serralves Museum, in Porto. In commerce, the Nova Vila Retail Park, with 16 stores, built in Portimão, emerged as the winner. In industry and logistics, Magna Logistics Benavente won, with large storage spaces and in offices, Arena Liga, located in Porto.
In terms of innovation in construction, The Yard, a residential building that used a prefabricated concrete construction system, located in Vila Nova de Gaia, was the winner.
The Regularization and Renaturalization of the Este Zona da Lagoa river, in Braga, was the winner in the public space category. And in Innovation in Mediation, Empathia won, a company that sells homes for the senior population, with lifetime use.
As for the usual category of rehabilitation and reconstruction, in housing, Fábrica 390, in Matosinhos, resulting from the recovery of an industrial unit, was the winner. In commerce, Time Out Market Porto, which occupies part of São Bento station, was distinguished. In tourism, it was the turn of The Lince Santa Clara Historic Hotel, in Vila do Conde, located in a former monastery. In terms of public equipment or cultural heritage, Mude – Museu do Design e da Moda, in Lisbon, which occupies a former bank, won. In offices, the winner was Oriente Green Campus, in Lisbon, which rehabilitated an unfinished structure. This work was also awarded the prestige prize, a distinction given by the jury that selects a project from among the winners of the night.
In interior architecture, in housing, Alure, in Lisbon, reached the top, which features antique details. In offices, Cloudflare, in the capital, won, with spaces created to suit the needs of its employees. In Tourism, The Lince Santa Clara Historic Hotel, in Vila do Conde, won once again, with comfortable and bright spaces. In terms of public equipment and cultural heritage, the victory went to the Convent of São Francisco de Real, in Braga, which preserves traces of other times.
Lastly, and in the project with economic, social and environmental impact, the victory went to the Marvila Sports Pavilion, in Lisbon, a structure that serves the school community and the city’s population.
Apart from the categories, the jury gave an honorable mention to Riverside, a housing project that restored an old building in Santa Comba Dão, contributing to improving the urban quality of this city.
SIC Esperança was once again present at this event, awarding a prize to Morada Certa – Housing First Leiria, from InPulsar, which works with the homeless population to obtain a home.
