We are in the final stretch to meet the winners of the 10th edition of the Axians Portugal Digital Awards. After several months of work, the jury chose the 59 finalist projects, announced at the beginning of November, which now hope to have the possibility of taking the stage at the Salão Preto e Prata, at the Estoril Casino. The ceremony will take place on November 26th, and the winners will be announced during a dinner, to which everyone who managed to overcome the various stages of the competition is invited.
Before the awards are handed out, the Minister for Digitalization, Bernardo Correia, will make an intervention, highlighting the importance of digital transformation in organizations and its impact on the economy and national competitiveness.
At the center of this transformation is the unavoidable artificial intelligence (AI), which has been giving impetus to companies’ investments. The information technology sector in Portugal is expected to experience growth of around 8.7% in 2025, precisely driven by the adoption of generative AI and new data centers.
is the predicted growth for the Information Technologies sector in Portugal in 2025
A reflection of this trend is the increasingly evident presence of AI in projects nominated for the Axians Portugal Digital Awards. According to Carmo Palma and Gabriel Coimbra, partners in the initiative, regardless of the area or sector of the projects, AI is gaining its place. However, the integration of this tool is being carried out, for the most part, in a positive and constructive way. “It appears as a complement to people, automating repetitive tasks and leaving free time for more creative tasks”, points out the managing partner da Goingnext.
Another growing concern of candidate projects is that, as highlighted by the managing director from Axians Portugal, “the transformation has a real impact on people’s lives, whether employees of organizations or the general public”.
“AI emerges as a complement to people. It automates repetitive tasks and leaves time for creative tasks”, points out Gabriel Coimbra
But, regardless of the winners, the organization’s members highlight this edition’s numbers. There were more than 300 applications that resulted in 59 finalist projects. “An increasingly difficult selection due to the quality they present”, says Gabriel Coimbra.
For those who got their passport stamped for the final, there are only eight days left to wait to find out if their project made a difference.

Why is this topic important?
Digital transformation is essential to guarantee the competitiveness, efficiency and adaptation of companies to rapid technological and market changes. Without this change, organizations risk losing relevance and opportunities.
Digitization also opens up space for new business models, products and services, allowing companies to create value in differentiating ways. It’s not just about technology, it’s also about cultural change. Digital transformation requires employees to develop new skills and mindsets focused on innovation and adaptation.
