In this episode of “The Future of the Future”, Bernardo Fernandez, founder and CEO of Bling Energy, speaks with Pedro Miguel Coelho about the company’s proposal: to provide solar panels as a subscription service, which allows you to lower your electricity bill and make consumption more intelligent and sustainable.
Saving on your electricity bill using solar panels without having to spend thousands of euros from the start is less complicated than it might seem. At least, that’s what this Portuguese company founded in 2022 promises. They created an innovative model that allows you to install solar panels and batteries at home without any initial investment. Instead of purchasing equipment, the customer pays a monthly subscription that includes everything: installation, maintenance, updating and management of the systems for 20 years.
How does it work? Bling starts by analyzing the location of the house, electrical consumption and current tariffs. Based on this, size the right number of panels and batteries to maximize savings. Then, install the equipment and manage the entire process. According to Fernandez, the impact is immediate: an average bill of €150 can drop to around €70 with the network, plus €40 to €50 from the subscription, which will generate direct savings of around €30 per month, without worries or initial investment.
In addition to savings, there are environmental benefits: when consuming solar energy, dependence on the grid and CO₂ emissions are reduced. What if there is energy left? It can be sold to the network, generating extra income.
