The Madeirans Napa are the most recent guests of Posto Emissor. The band, which on the BLITZ podcast was represented by vocalist João Guilherme Gomes and drummer João Rodrigues, spoke about their early days in Lisbon, when they were university students.
“We went to Arco do Cego, Cais do Sodré and Bairro Alto. And also the college library, in case my mother is listening”they joked. One of the places they also visited was Musicbox, a concert hall in Cais do Sodré that closed this year, giving way to Casa Capitão. The closure of Musicbox, for João Rodrigues, “marks the end of an era”, going on to discuss the current live music scene in the capital.
Napa are currently preparing their third album, due out in 2026. They recently released the single ‘Amor de Novo’, with the Brazilian band Jovem Dionísio. The band will debut in Porto and Lisbon Coliseums on January 24th and 30threspectively.
