The historic village of Póvoa Dão, in Silgueiros, Viseu, is for sale in an online auction with a base price of almost 1.7 million euros (ME), announces auctioneer Leilosoc Worldwide.

According to a press release sent to the Lusa agency, the sale at online auction of Póvoa Dão follows the “executive process of Nacala Holdings SARL and Others”, owner of the village.

“Located 10 minutes from Viseu, this village has a total area of ​​around 100 hectares. Its main features include the traditional houses, which maintain the original design and the existence of a chapel, restaurant, parking, common areas, and landscaped outdoor spaces”, highlights the document.

As bidding at the auction, open to the publicrun until December 5th of this year and “can be purchased for a base value of 1,699,898.08 euros and a minimum value of 1,444,913.35 euros”.

Story of a village sold several times

A Póvoa Dão made news in May 1995 for being sold for 80 thousand contos (around 400 thousand euros)at a time when “four elderly people lived in the village, from the dozens of families that 20 years before (1975) lived in the locality”.
