Coffee & Chocolate


If you like chocolate and coffee, this festival will have a variety of exhibitors to taste high-quality and specialty coffee, as well as activities such as a chocolate-making workshop, coffee tasting and conferences.

Mexico City, November 25 (However).- The Café & Chocolate Fest will have a Christmas edition this Saturday, November 29 and Sunday, November 30, this free and family event will have more than 60 exhibitors with a careful selection of high-quality and specialty coffee, Mexican and from guest countries, chocolates with a high percentage of cocoa, artisanal products and pieces ideal for Christmas decoration.

The UNAM Foundation’s Autonomy Palace is the place chosen for this meeting, which will have a festive atmosphere with a seasonal theme, Christmas carols, piñatas, lights and the presence of Santa Claus. It will also have a gastronomic and artisanal offering for attendees to enjoy.

The Café & Chocolate Fest promotes the economic development of Mexican producers and distributors, bringing the public closer to the properties of coffee and a wide variety of traditional drinks such as cocoa foam, pozol, tascalate, chilate and agua de barranca. Its chocolate offering ranges from cocoa beans and the traditional bar, to truffles, swarms and chocolates with exotic fillings. The proposal of artisanal products includes honey, breads, sauces, sweets, jams, cheeses and dried fruits.

This festival also has a social work: a percentage of its net profit goes to the UNAM Foundation Scholarship Fund, helping to strengthen education in Mexico.

What activities will there be at the Café & Chocolate Fest?

The festival will have the following activities:

  • 1:30 p.m. Storytelling: The magic of musical notes, in the voice of its author Lorna Rocío Contreras, member of the AC International Storytelling Network For children under 12 years of age (Room 15, PB).
  • 2:00 p.m. Sensory Workshop: Emociorama, to awaken your senses with elements of coffee, cocoa and chocolate, with Professor Carlos Alegría (Auditorium, 1st Floor).
  • 3:00 p.m. Literary Chocolate Shop: Chocolate tasting with an interactive story. Taught by: Fátima Galbós (writer) and David Solorzano (Chocolatier Chef) (Auditorium, 1st Floor).
  • 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Chocolate making workshop: Receive roasted cocoa and the ingredients to make your own bar. Learn grinding and mold the figures you want. Taught: Little Piece of Heaven (Room 15, PB).
  • 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Coffee tasting: Coffee Contrast, to distinguish between a specialty coffee and a commercial one. Activity sponsored by Xantina Café (Auditorium, 1st Floor).
  • 5:30 p.m. Conference: “Scientific dissemination on dietary health, cocoa and chocolate.” Taught by: IQ Alejandra Mendoza (Room 15, PB).
  • 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Cocoa Ceremony: Drinking pure cocoa accompanied by sounds, aromas and songs; ancient medicine to connect with the heart. Taught by: Jacqueline Andrade – Deer Woman, Tarot Reader, Reiki Master, Healer. Restriction for pregnant women and people with heart problems. It is recommended to hydrate before and after. (Auditorium, 1st Floor).
  • 6:30 pm Philosophical Cafés: Forum for dialogue and reflection on problems of daily life, from a critical and comprehensive perspective. (Auditorium, 1st Floor).

The recommendation is to register for the preferred activity when you arrive at the Palacio de la Autonomía, located at Lic. Primo de Verdad No. 2, almost on the corner of Moneda, Historical Center.

Access to the event will be from 11:00 in the morning and closing will be at 8:00 at night, every day.
