The march of the so-called Generation Z unleashed confrontations: hooded men attacked a police officer and uniformed men attacked a citizen; Sheinbaum calls for “non-violence.”
Mexico City, November 15 (However).- The march of the self-styled movementGeneration Z” takes place this Saturday at the Ciudad of Mexico (CdMx), after days of an intense call promoted by right-wing sectors and that seeks to show dissatisfaction with the security strategy of the federal government led by the President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo. According to the group’s petition, a mechanism will be required to remove the federal president.
The contingent left from Angel of Independence at 11:00 and arrived at Zócalo of Mexico City shortly before 1:00 p.m. Once on the plateau, a group of hooded men set off firecrackers and managed to remove the fences that protected National Palacewhich sparked clashes with the capital police, who retreated to the group. So far, one police officer has been reported injured.
Among the demands of the movement, whose leaders are still unclear, is the revocation of the President and the election of her replacement by the citizens, the demilitarization of public security and the strengthening of local security, as well as a renewal of Congress, where the Fourth Transformation (4T) has a qualified majority, for “better representativeness.”
