The House Oversight Committee said the emails, culled from thousands of pages of documents received by its Committee, raised new questions about the relationship between the two men.
Mexico City/Washington, November 12 (However).– The democrats of the House of Representatives published today emails in which Jeffrey Epstein wrote that today President of the United States (EU), Donald Trumphad “spent hours at my house” with one of his victims. Other messages suggest that the convicted sex offender, who allegedly committed suicide, believed that Trump I knew more about his abuse than he had admitted.
The victim’s name is blacked out to preserve his privacy, but the person receiving the 2011 message is Ghislaine Maxwellhis partner and friend, with a sentence of 20 years in a minimum security prison. “I want you to realize that the dog that has not yet barked is Trump“, writes Epstein. “He has not mentioned even once” that he met the victim.
The House Oversight Committee said the emails, culled from thousands of pages of documents received by its Committee, raised new questions about the relationship between the two men. In one of the messages, Epstein flatly asserted that Trump “knew of the existence of the girls,” many of whom, as investigations later determined, were minors. In another, Epstein mulled how to respond to media questions about their relationship as Trump was becoming a national political figure.

The three email exchanges released Wednesday follow a plea deal Epstein reached in 2008 on state charges of soliciting prostitution. Federal prosecutors agreed not to file charges. These exchanges occurred years after Trump and Epstein had an alleged estrangement in the early 2000s. The email addressed to Epstein’s longtime confidant Ghislaine Maxwell was there, while the other two were addressed to writer Michael Wolff.
Trump becomes furious when asked about the issue at conferences.
“Of course he knew about the girls, he asked Ghislaine to stop,” Epstein wrote to the Trump writer in a January 2019 email. House Democrats, citing an anonymous whistleblower, said this week that Maxwell was preparing to formally ask Trump to commute his federal prison sentence. Many suggest it is in exchange for their silence.

The emails were given to the Oversight Committee along with a larger batch of documents from Epstein’s estate that the panel requested as part of its investigation into sex offenders. Committee staff redacted the victims’ names and any information that could identify them. Since the full set of documents has not been released, it was not clear whether they had been drawn from longer conversations that could have provided fuller context.
Trump and Epstein were friends. They shared a lot of time together between New York and Palm Beach, Florida. In 2004, the relationship cooled, according to Trump, after two decades together. The New York Times says that those close to him have offered different versions of the motives. According to one of them, they became estranged after trying to outbid each other for a property in Palm Beach.
Last summer, Trump claimed that Epstein had hired employees of the Mar-a-Lago spa, his private club and residence in Palm Beach. He said he had been kicked out of the club and believed one of the women was Virginia Giuffre, who testified that Maxwell recruited her into Epstein’s prostitution ring when she worked at Mar-a-Lago as a teenager. When Epstein sent an email to Maxwell in 2011 calling Trump “the dog that didn’t bark,” Trump was a TV star and New York tabloid celebrity who was still years away from becoming President of the United States.
Maxwell testified to Justice Department officials in a prison interview this year that she never witnessed any inappropriate behavior by Trump.
Trump says he severed ties long before Epstein’s first arrest in 2006. Epstein pleaded guilty to soliciting the services of a minor for prostitution in 2008. Trump and Epstein frequented public places in the 1990s and early 2000s. According to flight logs, Trump took several trips on Epstein’s private jet during the 1990s and told New York magazine in 2002 that “he’s a lot of fun to be with.”
The new batch of emails was released by the Oversight Committee’s ranking member, Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.), on the same day the House returns to work after more than a month of recess. House Democrats said they had redacted the names of Epstein’s victims in documents made public Wednesday, as well as their personal email addresses.
New Democratic congresswoman Adelita Grijalva, who won a special election in September, will be sworn in on Wednesday and is expected to provide signature number 218, crucial to forcing a House vote on the release of files from the government investigation into Epstein, known as the Epstein files. Republican leaders have argued that the Oversight Committee is moving forward with its investigation and that a separate vote is not necessary.
