Mexico City, November 28 (However).- The President of the United States, Donald Trumpconfirmed on Thursday the death from an agent of the National guard which was attacked the day before during a shooting in Washington DC, while other elements of said reserve forces remain in critical condition.
In a press conference from the White House, the US president identified the National Guard element as Sarah Beckstroma 20-year-old West Virginia native, whom he referred to as “highly respected” y “young“.
“He was a wonderful person,” Trump said.
“This atrocity reminds us that we have no higher national security priority than ensuring that we have complete control of the people who enter and remain in our country. For the most part, we don’t want them. They come here irregularly,” added the tenant of the White House.
On the other hand, he explained that the other injured agent, who responds to the name of Andrew Wolfe, 24 years old, “is fighting for his life.” In addition, he noted that the alleged perpetrator of the attack, 29-year-old Afghan Rahmanullah Lakanwal, whom he referred to as “a wild monster,” is in a “serious condition.”
Just Wednesday, the President announced the deployment of another 500 National Guard troops to Washington, calling the shooting “a crime against our entire nation.”
“As President of the United States, I am determined to ensure that the animal that perpetrated this atrocity pays the highest price possible.” […] “We are not going to tolerate these types of attacks on public order by people who should not even be in our country,” he wrote in Truth Social.
The attack occurred on the corner of 17th Street and I Street, in northeast Washington, a few meters from the official residence of the White House. However, Donald Trump was traveling in Florida at the time of the shooting.
