CANCUN.- The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Quintana Roo reported the arrest of Ernesto Guadalupe “N”, alias “El Rayo”who is designated as the operator of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) in Playa del Carmen.
His arrest was achieved through intelligence work and coordination between federal corporationsstate and municipal.
Joint operation in the northern area of Quintana Roo
The seizure occurred in Cancún, specifically on Tulum Avenue and Agua Street, in the Superblock 4.
At this point, FGE Investigation Police intercepted the alleged criminal when he was traveling in a Chevrolet Captiva vehicle.
Furthermore, the operation had the support of the Secretary of National Defense, MarinaNational Guard, Secretary of Citizen Security and Municipal Police.
Arsenal and drugs secured
During the inspection, authorities seized 11 firearms of use exclusive to the Army.
Among them were six long weapons, four .223 caliber and two 7.62 x 39 mm caliber, and five short weapons, all with their magazines supplied.

Likewise, they seized substances similar to cocaine, marijuana and “stone”in addition to pink pills and several cell phones.
Linked to homicides and disappearances
According to investigations, Ernesto Guadalupe “N” would be related to at least five homicides and disappearances in Playa del Carmen and Tulum.
For this reason, it is considered a key piece within the operational structure of the CJNG in the region.
